Tips for Keeping a Healthy Shine in Your Hair

Shiny hair can be difficult to accomplish. Environmental and styling damage to hair can cause a frizzy, dull appearance

Eat a Proper Diet

A malnourished body cannot produce shiny, gorgeous hair. Since hair is a protein, you must make sure that your body is nourished in order to produce beautiful hair. Eating a balanced diet will help your hair grow long and shiny. If you are not taking a multivitamin, that would be an important addition to your nutritional portfolio.

Eat enough healthy fats like avocado and olive oil. Avoid heavily processed food and be sure to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Seafood, nuts, avocados, sweet potatoes, eggs, beans, and meats are all good foods to have in your diet when you want to achieve shiny hair.

When you pay attention to your diet, your hair will be in its best possible condition. This effect will not happen right away, but with several months of proper attention to your diet, you will notice a difference in your hair.

Wash Carefully

Using a harsh shampoo will make your hair rough and prone to breakage. Make sure that you use as gentle of a shampoo as you can, given your hair type and the level of natural oils that you produce. Start with a small amount of shampoo and work it into your hair gently. Be sure to stimulate the scalp for the best possible results.

Condition with the right kind of product for your hair type. If you have fine hair, avoid using anything with oil. Condition starting at the tips, working your way up. Do not apply conditioner to the roots. Rinse well, finishing with cool water to seal the cuticle.
